Pacific Training Institute aims to provide the best teaching and support, appropriate for peoples of different ethnic origins. PTI helps learners achieve NZQA units in computing, business administration, reading, writing and maths that lead to national qualifications, sustainable employment and further study. PTI seeks to empower the learning of our Akonga/Tamaiti Aoga by ensuring that their mental, physical and spiritual needs are being met.
Programme Outline
This programme for job seekers is focused on communication, computing, reading, writing, math's and workplace skills, with strong focus given to planning for employment, job search and the move into work or further tertiary studies with the support of the PTI team.

Programme Costs
This fully Government funded programme is free to those eligible. See the back of this brochure for further details. Travel allowance will be paid to eligible students.
Course Structure
Each student with tutors develops an individual learning/job search plan. From this plan he or she studies in the relevant work groups. Course is 26 weeks maximum.

Full time; Monday to Friday
9.00 am to 4:00 pm
(including self-study time)

Course Eligibility
In order to be enrolled in Foundation-Focused Training Opportunities (FFTO) training, a learner must be referred by a Work and Income case manager to the programme.
As part of the referral process, Work and Income case managers will use an assessment tool called the “Likelihood of Long-Term Benefit Receipt Predictor Tool” (LLTBR).
The LLTBR tool will assist each case manager to determine whether a specific client should be referred to a FFTO programme or a Training for Work programme.
